Ambassador Victoria Kennedy traveled to Salzburg last week and met with Governor Wilfried Haslauer. The content of the conversation ranged from appreciation of the long-standing good relations between the U.S. and Austria and the possibilities for positive expansion. She also had a stimulating conversation with the Mayor of the City of Salzburg, Harald Preuner.

Ambassador Kennedy also made her first visit to the Salzburg Global Seminar (SGS), which celebrated its 75th anniversary this year. Since its founding in 1947 as a non-profit organization, the SGS has been dedicated to educating current and future leaders to better shape the world.
Ambassador Kennedy met there with students from the current Media Academy, who are grappling with the big questions of what the post-pandemic media landscape will likely look like. The Ambassador was enthusiastic about the possibilities of these exciting discussions in the beautiful surroundings of Schloss Leopoldskron.
