On July 19, 2022, the Republic of Austria became the newest partner in the National Guard State Partnership Program of the Department of Defense. This marks a big step forward in the bilateral relationship between the U.S. and Austria and makes an important contribution to global peace and security. Austria’s partnership with the National Guard will be provided by the Vermont National Guard.
