Pulitzer Prize Winner Christo Buschek is a programmer and data journalist who focuses on combining data-driven research and storytelling in order to uncover human rights violations and strengthen social justice. Among other things, the software he developed was used to expose war crimes in the ongoing war in Syria. Buschek also trains NGO employees and human rights activists in digital security and data protection. On November 18, Christo Buschek gave a presentation of his works and findings at the Amerika Haus. He talked to a group of journalists about his methods and answered questions about the challenges in analyzing data.
Christo Buschek was awarded the Pulitzer Prize 2021 for his documentation of the mass incarceration of Uyghurs in China.
