Black History Month Program with Prof. Kim Warren

Prof. Kim Warren

In honor of Black History Month, this week the Embassy hosted Prof. Kim Warren of the Department of History at the University of Kansas and Fulbright scholar at the Syddansk Universitet for a series of workshops and discussions on the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the role of the ordinary citizen in civil rights movements.
During the week, Prof. Warren – together with “this human world” film festival director Djamila Grandits – discussed the topic with students at a screening of the film “For Akheem,” conducted a teacher training, addressed students of the Islamisches Realgymnasium Wien and of the Lise Meitner Realgymnasium, and held a discussion at Amerika Haus.
