Meet US school outreach program

Austrians meet U.S. diplomats

The “Meet US” program offers Austrian students (16 years and older) and teachers the opportunity to get in touch with American diplomats and to discuss life in the United States with them – whether it is about education, the hometown, or the work of U.S. diplomats, or about the U.S. political system or history. We would be happy to either visit you at your school (depending on the address), or to welcome you at the U.S. Embassy in Vienna or the Amerika Haus.

Discussions are in English and the American guest speakers provide an overview of the topic you choose from the options below. This overview lasts approximately thirty minutes, followed by a Q&A session.

Topics to choose from:

  • U.S. elections
  • U.S. education system
  • U.S. political system
  • U.S. media
  • U.S.-Austrian diplomatic relations
  • American Dream
  • Civil rights movement
  • Hollywood and pop culture vs real America
  • Amish
  • Native Americans

If you are interested in the Meet US program, please e-mail us at  ViennaUSEmbassy@state.gov. Participation in this program is free. All presentations will be held virtually until COVID-19 restrictions allow in-person events to resume.
