On February 15, Counselor for Public Affairs Dr. Daniel Mattern visited Theresianum highschool in Vienna to open the anniversary exhibit on the history of the Marshall Plan in Austria. This exhibit is part of a larger initiative of the U.S. Embassy during this anniversary year 2017/18. Carried out in cooperation with Austria wirtschafts service and the Austrian Marshall Plan Foundation, it is the goal of this initiative to introduce young Austrians to the important role the Marshall Plan and the ERP Fund continues to play for Austria’s economic development and prosperity following World War II. Following welcome remarks by Mag. Andreas Schatzl, the principal, Counselor Dr. Mattern met with students, one of whom is going to write her special paper about the Marshall Plan in Austria.
