Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross arrived in Austria last Tuesday. In his meetings with Minister of Finance Gernot Blümel, Minister for Digital and Economic Affairs Margarete Schramböck, and Minister for Climate Action, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology Leonore Gewessler, he discussed bilateral economic and trade relations.
The USA is one of Austria’s most important trading partners, ranking second among the country’s export destinations.
Austria is one of the fastest growing sources of foreign direct investment in the United States – with Austrian companies employing over 18,000 Americans. Secretary Ross met with representatives of top Austrian companies and with Harald Mahrer of the Wirtschaftskammer Österreich to talk about increasing bilateral investments.
